Nothing but a crumb in your daddy's chip sack
Alright, here’s a wild thought - a dad’s diet might actually influence his future kids' health before they’re even conceived.
Sounds like yet another newspaper article trying to scare the sh*t out of you, right?
But in a new study with mice, researchers found that what male mice ate changed how their offspring turned out.
Dads on low-protein, high-carb diets had sons who were a bit more anxious, and those on high-fat diets had daughters with higher body fat and signs of metabolic issues.

Now, don’t worry, your Friday night pizza won’t single-handedly rewrite your future kids’ DNA, but this does give us some food for thought. Literally.
The idea that a dad’s diet could affect his future children’s health is kind of mind-blowing, though. So maybe next time, think twice before diving into that third doughnut as you never know what legacy you might be leaving behind.

New dads reckon they’re hot stuff
It’s true, science says new dads often feel more attractive after having a baby.
Why?
A study of 182 couples found that while new moms generally feel less attractive post-baby, dads experience a short-lived confidence boost in their looks—especially if they had the baby in their first year of marriage.
The researchers think this might be tied to dads feeling more masculine, while moms could be dealing with body changes and less time for self-care.

However, the glow doesn’t last forever and by the end of the study, dads’ confidence dipped back to normal.
IMO, it’s probably the fact that, for the first time in your relationship, you’re going to be the prettier one. Temporarily.
While the study is from the 90s and focused on mostly White, middle-class couples (meaning there’s not a large pool of variables), it’s still an interesting peek into how parenthood can shift how we see ourselves
